So, there we were...and what an exhibition! I think last time I went there was 2 or 3 years ago... Not only was the walk from Waterloo to the gallery beautiful and inspiring, alongside the river Thames, but also full of fresh air and curiosities to observe: boats floating and moving along the river, seaguls flying over with their funny/interesting sound, people walking about like if there was no time, youngsters skating away, Romani gypsies playing music...
Once there, in front of the enormous intimidating brick building, we went to the permanent collection/free exhibitions in level 1 and 2. Most of it touched our hearts and minds in different ways, but the work that we both kept admiring and staring at and wanting to know more about was that of German artist Gerhard Richter (see link below). Even better, there was a cubicle showing a documentary about him! And we could see how he made his work and what he was like: a very simple, interesing and amusing chap!
Please. please, I really encourage you to make the most of London and the exhibitions it provides because we FORGET!! We are so much in our 'little' world that we forget to enjoy what is there, and it is for free! :)
Baci. xx
