After the first successful Tellin'Tales night with Gavin Bonner in August 24th, we invited acclaimed storyteller Sally Pomme Clayton to take part on the 28th October. Her tender yet assertive voice and presence representing a wide rage of characters- from villains to lovers, ghosts to animals- made us all marvel and travel beyond the confines of the room at Green Note, in Camden Town. Also, as part of the night, there was Akdeniz Trio (Kalia on voice, nay and kaval; Shirley Smart on Cello and Elizabeth Nott on percussion) playing music from the Middle East and the Balkans, and who joined Sally in one of her stories, a story about the phases of the moon...
A line that I will not forget from that night went on more or less like this: 'You get sick if you keep stories and songs to yourself... She still had so many stories to tell and so many songs to sing...' It is the story of my life...:)
